I’m all for high-street powerhouses teaming up with designers and when it comes to collaborations with up-and-coming, fascinating future talents - even better. And to add a bit more emotion from my part to the mix, we are taking shoes. I applaud Aldo for creating Aldo Rise - a collaboration with a selection of skilled young designers. The collections have been in stores for a few months now so it’s about time I talk you through my favorite picks!
Right now there are four designers collections for sale at Aldo stores worldwide and on Asos. Introducing my favorites.
gina tricot jeans
marni x hm hat

Pajama striped pointy pumps by J.W Anderson! Please note the amazingly weird ‘rubber fur’. I think after seeing Mr. Anderson's full ss12 collection, pieces fell in to place nicely. There is a sandal version as well that made my decision very hard, but what can I say.. I love pajamas and so does J.W.
preen ‘giffee’ shoes

Then there is the printed Preen ones, I could not even dream of having a digital print placed so beautifully on a leather shoe without looking the tiniest bit tacky. Not exactly a shoe you would expect to see on the high-street but then again none of these really are. These have been going ME ME ME lately when I’ve been deciding shoes for my all white outfits. I listen and obey, you should know by now that my shoes are my best friends.
Third pick was the Libertine wedges. A. because I was almost getting uncomfortable with the low-ish heels in the previous ones and B. I still can’t say no to a wedge. A wedge with graphic graffiti-like paint-splatters in it? Long time blog readers already know how I feel about things painted white, ad on a high heel to that and I am a very happy blogger.

And last but certainly not least we have the boys favorite, sexy high pumps by Mark Fast. Probably extra sexy when worn with a bandage dress and mask which is what I did last week, but more about my fetish behavior later. The black shoes with cut-outs reminds me of stockings and are a lot less dramatic in the adorable mint, lilac and beige color that they also come in.
So do you agree with my picks? I would probably say no as I’m quite keen to move on to try every other style in the collections as well. Congratulations Aldo, keep this up and I think we can become were good friends and if you read this text until here you would know that I listen very closely to my friends.
